Farming means killing monsters over and over to get the items they drop. That is, you kill them, then step back into town to reset the instance, then do it again. And again. And again and again and again!
Farming can be either to make money (from gold drops, and selling item drops), or you can farm for specific things, like for a collector. |

Farming, Verb.
Definition: To kick the crap out of enemies with one character so you can collect 'mad' drops. IE: Gold items, runes, and whatnot. This is how some people in GW make a living, others trade, others just run. This is one of the ways of obtaining mass wealth in short periods of time, usually from Runes <superior> and weapon mods. Hope this solved some questions --The shim |

You don't have to beat the game to farm You can just take your character through the breach and farm for a few charr hides. Get four of them, trade them in to the collector at Ascalon, and you'll get a fur square.

Actually 'Farming' is a noun word as well. It's an activity which qualifies it as a noun.
'to farm' would be an infinitive (verb) although. |

Not only that there are npc's that have the [collector] tag on them that will trade you 3 to 5 of a monster drop type in there area for a very nice weapon.
Every time you are in a new region, keep at least 5 drops of every new monster drop (not crafting materials) and keep an eye out for them. Another trick latter on in the game is when you use the salvage kits to convert monster items in to crafting material, there are material npc's that convert one type to another. Convert wood in to parchment then sell the parchment to the rare material trader. I say latter when converting one object give you 5-9 wood instead of a covert object -> 1 wood early on in the game.
